Director of Public Relations & Affairs
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chairman and Board members in working with media requests, as well as preparing and disseminating speeches and congressional testimony;
- Act as a spokesperson for field public information and media inquiries and oversee public meetings of the Board and its advisory groups;
- Assist in developing hard copy and electronic outreach kit materials;
- Maintain and enhance the Web site;
- Create progress and other project-tracking reports for Board review;
- Assist with the organization and management of the Annual Report;
- Assume a primary role in the Speakers Bureau to develop Board talking points and other support materials;
- Coordinate activities with the SEC Public Affairs Office;
- Write and/or edit, proofread and copyedit documents for publication;
- Maintain standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents;
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment on a daily basis; and
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

Description: The Public Affairs Council -- an international educational organization for public affairs professionals -- is seeking a director of research and consulting services. This individual will be responsible for directing our emerging issues research program and management consulting practice. He or she will oversee studies on grassroots, government relations, corporate social responsibility and other topics, and will work with Fortune 500 companies on customized benchmarking studies. In addition, he or she will serve as executive director of our research foundation.
