President Donald Trump Impeached by the US House of Representatives. At 9:08, the first article of Impeachment (H.R. 755) was brought to the floor. Abuse of Power. The Vote: 230-197. Two Dems voted against, 1 Dem, Tulsi Gabbbard, voted “Present.” No Repubs voted for impeachment.
The second article of Impeachment: Obstruction of Congress. The Vote: 229-198.  Three Dems voted against. No Repubs voted for impeachment.

Pete Buttigieg has surged to the top of the field in Iowa, according to the state's flagship poll released Saturday.  A Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom survey shows Buttigieg with 25 percent, followed by three candidates vying for second: Elizabeth Warren at 16 percent, and Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders at 15 percent. House will vote on a resolution to formalize the next steps of the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. The resolution “establishes the procedure for hearings” according to Speak Nancy Pelosi (Politico)

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is preparing to file paperwork to qualify for the Democratic presidential primary in Alabama, ahead of a Friday deadline. The move would be a first step toward a national campaign, though Bloomberg has not made a final decision to run. (Politico)

 

Rep. Greg Walden, (R, OR) -  He will retire at the end of this Congress. He is the 17th House Republican to announce retirement this cycle.
